MAHINDRA & MAHINDRA

Mahindra & Mahindra wanted to build a festival content series for its social channels, in-car displays and TV campaigns, but came into the first project with a limited content bank and no 3D vehicle models.

THE CASE

FROM ONE FILM TO A FESTIVAL SERIES.

Night Wolves Studio was commissioned to develop the first film for Diwali, taking the project from concept through final delivery. The work required creating new visual worlds around Mahindra’s existing product content while keeping the vehicles physically accurate.

The Diwali film became the starting point for a wider festival series. Following its delivery, Mahindra commissioned Night Wolves Studio to create the Christmas film, followed by the Republic Day film.

The challenge across the series was to create three distinctly different festival films from a limited pool of existing product content, while maintaining vehicle accuracy and completing each film within an approximately one-week production window.

THE APPROACH

TURNING LIMITED CONTENT INTO NEW VISUALS.

Each film was developed as a separate production, starting from the visual language of its particular occasion.

For Diwali, we built a mandala from elements of the Mahindra vehicles, including headlights, tyres and vehicle forms. Christmas took a more playful direction with Santa and other festive elements, while Republic Day centred on the national tricolour and the newly launched XUV 7XO.

KEEPING THE VEHICLES TRUE TO THE PRODUCT.

With limited references and no 3D vehicle models available, product accuracy had to be checked throughout production.

AI-generated imagery was used where it helped create new visual possibilities, but the generated vehicles required further work to bring their proportions, surfaces, lights, glass and other details back in line with the actual products.

Multiple generations and post-production passes were used to give each film its own festival character without compromising the way the Mahindra vehicles were represented.

THE TECHNOLOGY

RESEARCH, TEST, REFINE.

AI was used as part of the production R&D, not as a one-click route to the final image.

We tested different generation approaches to understand where AI could create useful new visuals from Mahindra’s limited content. Usable outputs then moved into post-production, where the AI-generated vehicle elements were rebuilt and refined against the actual product.

Proportions, body surfaces, lights, glass, reflections and other product details were individually corrected before the frames moved into the film.

The resulting workflow connected AI generation with final compositing, allowing us to test what the technology could produce, identify where it fell short and build the necessary refinement into the production process.

THE RESULT

ONE PRODUCTION PARTNER. THREE FESTIVAL FILMS.

The Diwali film became the first project in the series, followed by Christmas and Republic Day.

Each film introduced a distinct festival visual direction while continuing to work within the available product content and maintaining vehicle accuracy.
