MG Majestor SUV featured in a cinematic campaign scene

Mg-Majestor

MG Motor was launching a premium D+ segment SUV in India and needed a suite of films that made the vehicle feel powerful, capable and aspirational with cinematic launch films to technology-led visuals.

THE CASE

Teaser & Launch Films supported by Technology Visuals

We built hyper-real environments designed around the scale and character of the vehicle, with physically accurate behaviour and broadcast-grade 4K output

The production required multiple large-scale environments and a flexible pipeline that could adapt across films without creating unnecessary rework.

The challenge: Build a production system capable of delivering this scale and visual fidelity within a tight window, while keeping the creative direction flexible from film to film.

THE APPROACH

Built to adapt. The vehicle had to perform in large-scale environments while maintaining a premium, sophisticated presence in close-ups and interior-led visuals. We used Unreal Engine where scale and iteration mattered, and Cinema 4D with Redshift where precision, materials and finish took priority.

Outside the car, the film needed to feel ruggedCity streets, forests, deserts and mountains gave the vehicle a sense of scale, while Unreal Engine allowed us to build and iterate those worlds in real time.

Inside, the approach was different: calm precisionCAD data was optimised into a production-ready vehicle asset, with Cinema 4D and Redshift handling materials and close-up detail to specification.

When reflection fidelity mattered, path tracing was the right choicePaint, glass and chrome needed physically accurate reflections without compromise.

Night was the hardest sequenceEvery streetlamp, sign and headlight became a light source, while wet roads multiplied reflections. Daytime frames took 12–15 minutes; night pushed beyond 40 minutes on the top GPUs. The render farm absorbed the difference.

Physical behaviour over visual tricksSuspension compression, tyre deformation, dust, mud and water interaction were simulated as physical responses to the terrain and vehicle movement.

THE TECHNOLOGY

Research before and during production

For MG, we developed and tested approaches for vehicle interaction with water, dust, mud and terrain, while exploring how large-scale environments could be built and rendered efficiently. Night sequences required another round of optimisation, balancing lighting complexity, reflections and render times without compromising the final image.

The result was not a single production pipeline, but a set of tested approaches, each chosen for what the shot actually needed.

THE RESULT

One vehicle. Multiple worlds. Built to scale.

Across the campaign, we delivered 6 cinematic films and 1 technology film, spanning city streets, forests, deserts and mountains, with consistent vehicle detail and physical accuracy throughout.
